A Guide to Learning English in Bournemouth   by Tom Ward

Bournemouth is a seaside town located on the south coast of England in the country of Dorset and is just over 105 miles south- west of London. It is considered to possess some of the most beautiful and striking beaches in the whole of the UK and is popular tourist destination with both British people and tourists from around the World. The town is located to the East of the famous Jurassic Coast, which can boast some of the most striking and beautiful scenery in the World, this is reflected in the fact that it was recently assigned World Heritage site status. If you are a keen on windsurfing then this is the ideal location for you as Bournemouth possesses Europe’s first artificial reef. This entices many to Bournemouth from across England, who are keen to test their surfing skills without having to pay through the roof to do this abroad. In addition to the popularity of windsurfing, there is the opportunity to experience the sport of kite surfing, Bournemouth has a number of schools which are aimed at teaching locals and tourists the basics of windsurfing and kite surfing.
Bournemouth also has many other great attractions for young people, including a fantastic night- life and some of the best shopping facilities on the South coast. Bournemouth has a university and therefore it is considered very much a student town and this is reflected in the number of bars, restaurants, night clubs and cinemas which the town has to offer.
When you consider all of these factors, you soon realise that there is probably no where else you should study English in the UK. Why would you even consider studying in the chaos of London when you can relax in the idyllic surroundings of Bournemouth and be free to explore many other parts of the UK and even visit the Isle of Wight, a beautiful place, located a short ferry journey away.
There are various language schools in Bournemouth for the international student to consider, however it is imperative to take your time when considering which school to enrol in. It is essential to consider a school which has a great deal of experience in teaching, ideally a school which has decades of experience is where you should be enquiring, as you can be assured that the teaching and course materials will be of the highest quality and you will have a much greater chance of being successful in any examinations which you may undertake. A college with many years of experience will also enable you to feel safe and assured that you will receive support to help you settle fully into life in the UK. The process of selecting a language school to study English in the UK is not a process which should be rushed, it is of course a costly investment but is one that will reward you for an entire lifetime and allow you to travel the world, whether it be for leisure, to continue your education or for employment opportunities.
